RUN FOR HONOR
ABOUT OUR 5K
The purpose of the Eric J Williams Memorial 5k Race is to raise scholarship money for students, criminal justice majors, and law enforcement programs, while honoring fallen correctional officers, law enforcement personnel, and first responders who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.
Our 5K event helps future students and law enforcement officers across the country
The Eric J. Williams Memorial 5k Run and Walk is held on an annual basis at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, PA, and is one of our signature events that helps fund our scholarship program. Each 5k participant is asked to designate a college, trade school, or police academy of their choice, and a drawing is then held by the race committee and the institution(s) receiving the scholarship awards are picked.
YOU HELP US MAKE AN IMPACT
The Eric Williams Scholarship Fund has been supported by donations of all types from caucuses, organizations, families, businesses, schools, corrections and law enforcement officers, sports teams, and federations. We have the deepest gratitude for all who have contributed over the years. We could not complete our mission and help make an impact without you. Thank you for your continuous generosity!
With the help and support of various different organizations and individuals who generously donated, we raised over $70,000 in scholarship money.
Over the years, we’ve had the amazing opportunity to aware 17 different schools with scholarships. Some of which were selected by 5k participants.
We’ve expanded our reach across the country, and distributed scholarship awards to students and educational institutions in 7 different states
WE ALSO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH FUN AND EDUCATIONAL CONTESTS
Our art and essay contests are proposed to a select group of students from schools across all states. The essay and art contest are assigned a title or theme which the contestant will develop into artwork or writing. The theme is most often related to some aspect of law enforcement. The contest winners are chosen by a review board of college professors.
